For the first time, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) carried out an attack on a Russian “shadow fleet” tanker in neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The Alpha special unit hit the empty tanker QENDIL using drones. The vessel was reportedly used to bypass international sanctions and finance Russia’s war efforts. As a result of the strike, the tanker sustained critical damage and is no longer operational.
Footage from the 46th Air Assault Brigade shows the destruction of an enemy mechanized column carrying infantry near Novopavlivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. This marks the second time in a week—following a similar engagement near Hryshyne—when a large enemy column was neutralized using a coordinated combination of tube artillery, FPV drones, and aerial drops. In this operation, artillery played the primary role rather than a supporting one. The video also captures a precise aerial drop directly into a tank hatch at 02:20.
The explosion caused critical damage, effectively putting the submarine out of action.
A Varshavyanka-class submarine is valued at approximately $400 million.
The submarine carried four launchers for Kalibr cruise missiles, which Russia uses to strike targets across Ukraine.
The strike was a joint operation by the SBU’s 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence and the Ukrainian Navy.
Due to international sanctions, building a similar submarine today could cost up to $500 million. This class is also known as the “Black Hole” because its hull absorbs sound and remains difficult to detect by sonar.
The damaged submarine had been forced to stay in the port of Novorossiysk following successful operations by Sea Baby surface naval drones, which pushed Russian ships and submarines out of Sevastopol Bay in occupied Crimea.
Shocking footage from Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, captured by drone and from inside the city. Just 20 km from Kramatorsk, the area is now burned out: high-rise buildings destroyed, a kindergarten ruined, and a church damaged. The video shows a residential block that was still intact just a few months ago. Civilians who remain are cooking food outside their apartment buildings, trying to survive amid the destruction.
The United States has seized the tanker SKIPPER off the coast of Venezuela, stating that the vessel had been used to transport sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran. According to Donald Trump, the oil taken from the tanker will likely be sent to the United States
