The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported carrying out airstrikes against Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and military infrastructure in southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, the strikes were aimed at preventing attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild its military capabilities. The military stated that one of the targeted sites was embedded within a civilian area, which it described as evidence of Hezbollah’s use of civilians as human shields. The IDF emphasized that advance warnings and additional precautionary measures were taken in an effort to minimize harm to civilians. Israeli officials said these activities constitute a violation of the existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon and pose a direct threat to Israel’s security. The IDF added that it will continue to act against any threats to the State of Israel.
