The Chronicles

Content Safety Policy

War footage is, by nature, graphic. The Chronicles balances the public's right to documentation with the dignity of the people in those videos. This page describes our content safety rules.

Last updated: May 2026

Graphic content gating

Footage that depicts visible casualties, severe injury, or extreme violence is gated behind a content warning. Where required by local law, viewing is restricted to age-verified visitors.

Identifiable casualties

We blur or remove identifying features (faces, unit insignia where they could place a captured soldier at risk) before publishing footage that includes casualties. We remove footage entirely on request from a verified family member.

Prohibited content

We do not publish executions, torture, abuse of prisoners of war, or any content that violates the Geneva Conventions' protections of dignity. Such material is removed upon discovery and reported to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Reporting violations

If you encounter content that violates this policy, use the report button on the video page or email safety@thechronicles.online. We respond within 48 hours.
