Correction Policy

When we get something wrong, we correct it openly. This page explains what counts as a material correction, how we issue corrections, and how to submit one.

Last updated: May 2026

What counts as a correction

A correction is any update that changes a factual claim about a video: location, date, attribution, identity of the unit, or the nature of the event. Cosmetic edits (typo fixes, translation polish) are not logged as corrections.

How corrections are made

We update the affected video page in place and add a 'Correction issued' note in the editorial sections, including the original claim, the correction, and the date. Material corrections are also logged on this page so the corrections trail is publicly auditable.

Takedowns

We accept takedown requests when (a) the rights holder requests removal, (b) the video can be linked to a personally identifiable casualty whose family requests removal, or (c) it violates our content safety policy. Most takedowns happen within 72 hours of a verified request.

Submit a correction

Email us at corrections@thechronicles.online with the video URL and a description of the inaccuracy. Include sources or evidence where possible.
