Kherson is a port city in southern Ukraine that serves as the administrative centre of Kherson Oblast. In result of russian invasion in 2022, Kherson was under russian control since March 2, 2022 till November 11, 2022. Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the city of Kherson from russian occupation on November 11, 2022. Now Kherson is under daily attacks, russians are killing civilians and destroying the city.
Footage circulating on social media shows a large fire in the Central District following artillery strikes on February 20. A residential building caught fire, with the upper floors sustaining the most severe damage. Thick smoke and flames were seen rising above the area as emergency services responded. The full extent of the destruction and possible casualties is still being clarified.
