During Operation Black Coffee, Swedish authorities seized the cargo ship Caffa south of Trelleborg. The vessel was declared stateless after it was found flying a false Guinea flag to conceal its Russia origins. The Caffa is on Ukraine’s sanctions list and is suspected of being part of the Russian “shadow fleet” used to transport illicit cargo. Authorities have launched a criminal investigation over the ship’s unseaworthiness and lack of insurance.
