US Marines conducted a boarding operation on the sanctioned tanker Tifani in the Indian Ocean, in a move aimed at tightening enforcement against vessels linked to Iran. The 330-meter tanker was reportedly carrying around 2 million barrels of oil loaded earlier this month on Iran’s Kharg Island. According to tracking data, the vessel passed Dondra Head on April 19 and entered Southeast Asian waters on April 20, after which US forces boarded the ship.
