Ukrainian loitering FPV drones, often referred to as “wait-and-strike” systems, are being used to stop Russian assault groups before they reach the frontline. By remaining in position and striking at the right moment, these drones disrupt advances and reduce enemy pressure on defensive lines.

FPV drones targeted a column of seven Russian assault ATVs attempting an attack toward the village of Riasne in the Sumy region on the morning of May 3. The strike disrupted the advance and hit multiple vehicles during the movement.

A Russian Ural truck loaded with ammunition was destroyed while in motion. The strike triggered a powerful explosion, resulting in the loss of the vehicle and its driver.

Kostiantynivka remains under round-the-clock Russian fire as the city continues to be systematically destroyed. Two tankers from Russia’s so-called shadow fleet were reportedly struck near the entrance to the port of Novorossiysk, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The operation was carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and Navy as part of sanctions enforcement efforts. The vessels were actively used to transport oil. Following the strike, they are no longer operational, according to the statement.

Enemy troops on motorcycles attempted a rapid assault as if racing through the battlefield, but fighters of Ukraine’s 42nd Mechanized Brigade quickly stopped the attack. The advancing force was engaged before reaching its objective, turning the attempted breakthrough into a dead end for the attackers.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah militants reportedly destroyed an Israeli Merkava tank for the first time using an FPV drone. The strike is said to have triggered an internal ammunition detonation, resulting in the loss of the vehicle.

The 1st Separate Center of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a strike using FP-2 drones against enemy vehicles parked inside one of the workshops of the former Bakhmut Electrotechnical Plant. The vehicles were first detected by a fiber-optic FPV drone. After confirming the target, Ukrainian forces used the more powerful warhead of an FP-2 drone to strike the facility and the equipment inside.

The 1st Separate Center is now reportedly using Hornet AI drones, developed with support from Eric Schmidt. In this footage, a Hornet drone strikes a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system, highlighting the growing role of AI-assisted UAVs on the battlefield.

The moment a drone struck a bus standing at a stop in Dnipro was captured on video. Reports indicate the UAV was guided, meaning the operator could see and control the strike location. The impact caused a massive fire, with the bus and multiple nearby vehicles burning out completely. Surrounding areas were heavily damaged by the blaze. At least one person was killed and four others were reported injured. Emergency services continue working at the scene.
