The enemy has long felt secure deep behind the front lines, but for the special forces of the Security Service of Ukraine’s “Alpha” unit, distance is no longer a limiting factor. This operation, documented as war documentation and a frontline report, shows how long-range drone observation and battlefield overview are reshaping the situation on the ground far from the immediate frontline conditions.
Over the past year alone, five military airfields were struck by long-range drones, based on reconnaissance footage and sustained frontline monitoring. As a result, 15 aircraft have been rendered inoperable. Confirmed losses captured on video include:
• 11 fighters and bombers: Su-30SM, Su-34, Su-27, Su-24, MiG-31
• 3 helicopters: Mi-28, Mi-26, Mi-8
• 1 transport aircraft: An-26
In addition to aircraft losses, ammunition and fuel depots at the airfields were destroyed, dealing a major blow to field infrastructure and operational support. The total estimated damage inflicted exceeds $1 billion USD, providing a significant military situation update and a clear conflict zone update on how long-range drone warfare can reach targets deep in the rear.
